Glen is an experienced operations manager and a lean manufacturing professional. He has a long history of providing professional contract services and expert consulting to leading manufacturing companies. His most recent engagement was serving as a contract operations executive for a Tier 1 aerospace manufacturer in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Glen was able to re-structure the entire business operations utilizing a comprehensive lean strategy. The operating processes and capability are now in place to reduce backlog and double the monthly run rate by early 2010. These skills allow Gear Up Finance to ensure clients’ operations are in sync with their budget, financial plan and strategy development.
Previously, Glen was a Director at ArvinMeritor, Inc. where he served as General Manager for the suspension modules business unit which included multiple assembly plants, hundreds of employees and generated sales in excess of $80MM. During his time as the General Manager, the business unit doubled its revenue while simultaneously improving quality. Other responsibilities included directing operations for a $250MM automotive component manufacturing and distribution business unit that employed 1400 people. Glen implemented an operations restructure plan that reduced the manufacturing footprint and prepared the business unit for divestiture by eliminating $10MM of costs per year. The business division was successfully sold to a Private Equity buyer.
Prior to ArvinMeritor, Glen spent 18 years in various executive/operations management, management consulting and engineering roles at Ford Motor Company, Ernst & Young LLC, Federal-Mogul Corporation and ZF Lemforder.
Glen has degrees in Engineering from the University of Illinois and an MBA from the University of Michigan. He is pursuing his APICS CPIM certificate and serves on the Board of Directors for the Tulsa APICS chapter.
Glen lives in Bixby, Oklahoma with his wife, Michelle, and their three young sons. In his spare time he is an avid runner and enjoys serving as judge at BBQ competitions.
